Mayra Madriz is a Warehouse Supervisor in Chicago.
When asked what her favourite thing about working at Metrie is, Mayra shared,
“The environment. The culture. The people.
Management – we get all the support we need from our management. We have a lot of opportunities to grow.”
“I had a little bit of warehouse experience but started at Metrie in an admin position… I started asking people to teach me different things around the warehouse. Little by little I started learning and I got offered the lead position to be on the floor. And from that I was really scared at first!”
“I got support from my manager at the time. He said ‘you can do it – I see that you have potential, you got this, I will give you the support you need.’”
“That’s how I started working my way up, until finally I applied for the supervisor position. I’ve been in the supervisor position for 2 years and I really like it – I like what I do!”
“Sometimes I feel like a teacher for my team. For a lot of them, it’s their first job, so I’m showing them how to do things in the warehouse and making sure they go home safe.”
