Tacoma Firelogs can be burned in a well-ventilated fireplace, wood stove, fire pit, wood furnace, or chimeneas.
Some brands of firelogs will burn hotter than what an indoor fireplace is rated for. This can cause dangers such as risk of house fire or damage to the fireplace. While we can’t be sure of your application, TFL has been designed and tested for safe use in typical fireplaces and wood stoves. Please consult your fireplace’s heat rating and burning instructions.
Yes! You can use Tacoma Firelogs on their own, or to extend the burn time and output from your traditional firewood.
Tacoma Firelogs burn cleaner and hotter than traditional firewood and many competitors, as they are made from kiln dried and processed wood fibers. TFL contains no bark, moss, dirt or wax additives. This results in your firelogs converting into heat rather than smoke, resulting in less creosote buildup.
After burning, the residual ash amounts to only 2% of the total log volume vs. 6-10% in traditional firewood. This means having to clean your stove far less often.
A Tacoma Firelog consists of strictly wood shavings, therefore making it no more toxic than burning natural wood.
Each Tacoma Firelog will burn for up to two hours in an open firepit, and up to six hours in a ventilated wood stove.
